Tarrus Riley Set To Reveal New Single “Love Salute”

The Multi-talent takes Roots Reggae route for his latest track

Love and togetherness have been the theme at the heart of Lover’s Rock since the genre’s inception. International recording artist Tarrus Riley is set to release his single “Love Salute”. A contemporary take on Roots Reggae, with an infectious yet familiar baseline. Appealing to younger audiences and traditional Reggae fans, “Love Salute” is a heart-warming track with a powerful meaning.

Keeping with the authentic expression of heavy bass and horns associated with the roots of Reggae’s expression, Kareem Burrell unearthed a classic production from his father Fatis’s catalog called “Hold On.” The 1997 X-Terminator released original featured the vocals of Marcia Griffiths and the message to not give up hope for what you are looking for.

Tarrus Riley’s consistent musical success in Reggae transcends across roots rock, soft rock, and dancehall. His ability to deliver a contemporary roots Reggae track is a skill Kareem ‘Remus’ Burrell applauds of Tarrus Riley. “Tarrus is a musical genius, and it is always a joy and a seamless musical effort working with him. His knowledge of music allows the production process to flow easily across all genres beyond Reggae. To work with a vocalist who is aware of evolution in the genre and able to use his tool, his vocal where he sees fit is magic” says Kareem ‘Remus’ Burrel.

According to Patricia Meschino, for The Daily Beast, “Tarrus’ impressive catalogue showcases his finely tuned expressive vocals, which are adaptable to a range of styles from soft rock (“Jah Will”) to traditional Rastafarian Nyabinghi drumming (“Lion Paw”) to energetic dancehall (“Good Girl Gone Bad”). Then there’s the EDM power ballad

“Powerful,” a certified gold single produced by Major Lazer, featuring Tarrus and Ellie Goulding”.

In 2021, Tarrus continues the contemporary roots Reggae messaging that he began in 2004 by encouraging everyone listening to ‘Love Salute’, “don’t wait until it’s too late to show the people who you love, that you love them. Salute the ones you love; simple, Love Salute” says Tarrus Riley.

“Love Salute” is the second collaborative effort between the two second generation Reggae royalty musicians. Both Tarrus and Kareem agree that the world needs to appreciate love in all forms and never take a person for granted. Slated for international release on November 19th, 2021, “Love Salute” arrives in time for the festive holiday season, which will bring family and loved ones together.

Riley's history with Reggae hits includes the chart topping “She’s Royal” and “Lighter” featuring Shenseea. As well as covers and ballads, which include hits like “Heartbreak Anniversary,” “Superman,” “Human Nature,” and "Stay with You." Fostering his signature sound, “Love Salute” showcases the artists musicianship with the songs dub rootsy-Lover’s Rock vibe that adds a slight Reggae feel.

To compliment “Love Salute,” the music video will be debuted on Surf Roots TV on the day of release and will be widely shared on Tarrus’s YouTube channel on November 20th, 2021.

[MUSIC] NEW MUSIC "COME CLOSER TO ME" - CHRISTOPHER MARTIN

Christopher Martin - Come Closer to Me

For a dancehall ‘riddim’ to hit the big time, it usually needs some star power. With over 20 years in the music business to his name, Edgiton Farqhuarson is aware of that. Earlier this year, his Madstorm Production company recruited Christopher Martin to boost their Majestic Storm beat which was released in late 2019.

Come Closer to Me, Martin’s song, hit the market in August.

“Chris is a gifted artist in his own right, we have been following him from his contestant days to present and his growth is amazing. Come Closer to Me definitely brings another dimension to the Majestic Storm rhythm; we loved what he has done and we will leave no stone unturned to bring light to that fact,” said Farqhuarson.

The Majestic Storm was created by Jay Beats with Mario Lawrence as engineer. It debuted with songs by Symatic and Delly Ranx but while their tracks fared well, the Madstorm team agreed a marquee artist would boost the production’s stocks. Martin, known for songs like Cheaters Anthem and Big Deal, fit that bill perfectly. According to Farquharson, it was worth bringing him in on the project.

A protege of super producer Bobby Digital, he spoke about Madstorm Production’s approach to music. “Our process is not much different from all the other creative minds out there. I think we spend a little more time putting our creative thoughts together and watching the trend before a bass line for a melody is formed,” said Farqhuarson.

[MUSIC] Chart-topping R&B Soul Duo RUFF ENDZ Releases Visuals To Their Summer-Smash Single, "HOPELESS"'

8/14/2021

Picture
"Hopeless" was written and produced by David Chance. "My Guyanese roots inspired this beautiful song. It takes me back to the West Indian rhythms that you would hear all throughout the streets of Guyana," mentions David. "Hopeless is a simple love song about a man that is a "hopeless romantic" and has found the girl that matches his "fly", so he is expressing his love for her through this island inspired rhythm," he adds.

The summer-friendly visuals were directed by David Chance. "We wanted to show a video that made you feel like summer-time fun with an Island twist to it. Because of covid-19 it was nearly impossible to shoot in our desired location which was Bermuda, so the closest place to Baltimore that had palm trees was Florida!," chuckles David. "Miami and Orlando had major curfews in place due to Covid, so we figured we would stay clear of those areas and decided to shoot in Jacksonville, Florida. Our dancers traveled from Atlanta and not only brought choreography to the video but also doubled as leading ladies. Oh, it was challenging, but at the end of the day we had so much fun and we hope that our fans feel that in the video," shares Donte.

RUFF ENDZ's latest album release, "REBIRTH" debuted at #3 on the iTunes R&B charts. The group celebrated chart-topping success of the album with a Billboard-reveal in Times Square where fans joined the group for social-distancing photos, autographs and a pure celebration in the middle of Times Square.

ABOUT RUFF ENDZ
Ruff Endz, the hip-hop soul duo of David "Davinch" Chance and Dante "Chi" Jordan, formed in Baltimore in the mid-'90s. Named after the "Ruff" parts of the city, the group came up in West Baltimore originally as part of a quartet. Soon after they broke off on their own as a duo ,and in 1999 they signed to Epic Records. In that same year Ruff Endz was featured on Martin Lawrence’s ”Blue Streak” with a song entitled "Please dont forget about me" produced by Super Star producer Nokio from the platinum group "Dru Hill". They followed up in 2000 with their first album entitled "Love Crimes". Their first single, "No More", reached #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop charts and peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2002, the duo released their second album, Someone To Love You, which peaked in the top 10 on the R&B charts and top 50 on Billboard.

The album’s first single, “Someone To Love You”, went on to spend 11 weeks at #1 on the AC charts and with their second single, “Cash, Money, Cars, Clothes” rounding out the top 50 on Billboard. They have shared the stage with music industry icons such as Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly, and Christina Aguilera while also featured on CNN, MTV, BET, Top of the Pops (UK), and Much Music (Canada) just to name a few. Their music has been showcased on several feature films including Chris Rock's "Down to Earth" , Eddie Murphy’s “I Spy”, and Ice Cube’s “Barber Shop” just to name a few.

Their success has grown and crossed US borders to headline their own tours throughout Europe and Japan building a major international fan base. After splitting in 2004 ,the group decided to join forces once again after their hometown of Baltimore erupted into an Historical uprising that left their city in flames. With the city in unrest, they were compelled to record their first song entitled "Time 4 Change" a song that speaks out against injustice for their city and all cities alike. "Time 4 Change" is also the groups tribute to Martin Luther King. Ruff Endz will also be featured on the new Fox TV show called "Shots Fired" with a song called "Speak to My Heart"(episode 7) which premiered March 22, 2018.

In 2020 , the group partnered with SRG-ILS Group to bring you their fifth studio album called “ REBIRTH”. With songs like “Be The One “ Congratulations", and “Hopeless", the Hip-Hop Soul Duo Ruff Endz is bringing what so many people want...100% ORGANIC R&B!

"The inspiration behind this album was birthed out of our experiences, both personally and professionally. Musically the album embodies elements from the classic era of R&B which we thought were important to preserve but still be able to incorporate a 2021 perspective," mentions Ruff Endz.

"We are excited about this project because it’s a true expression of how we really feel as men. We see life as a roller coaster of emotions and "REBIRTH" is a reflection of us riding the emotional ups & downs of life. Each song shares about an emotion that we have experienced and how we dealt with those situations," adds the group.

Overall, the tone of this album is positive, so it doesn’t matter where you are in your life there is something for you on this album that is sure to satisfy your R&B appetite.

[MUSIC] GRAMMY® AWARD WINNER TAMELA MANN DROPS NEW RELEASE, OVERCOMER, AUGUST 6

7/15/2021

Some albums are destined for a certain time. After several years of evolution and change in her life, Grammy® Award-Winning Artist, NAACP Image® Award-Winning Actress, Songwriter, and Producer, Tamela Mann, is set to release her new Tillymann Music album, Overcomer, through The Orchard Distribution on Friday, August 6. There is a new sense of authority and urgency in Tamela’s music now; she has lived these songs and is ready to share the strength and purpose she has found.

Propelled by the singer’s strong, passionate vocals, and her newfound voice as a songwriter, each of the 12 tracks on Overcomer was conceived to bring healing and hope to a world resetting after a tumultuous chapter in its history. There is plenty to unpack from a lyrical standpoint, and Tamela is at the writing helm on most of the songs.

“I poured my experiences into the lyrics, putting my heart and soul into the words on this album,” Tamela says. “It’s me looking at my life and the things I was dealing with, trying to learn from those things, and doing what I can to overcome them.”

Overcomer may be Tamela’s best work to date. Each song stands on its own as a masterful production. The album was executive produced by Tamela and her husband, Music Producer and NAACP Image® Award-Winning Actor/Comedian, David Mann, with production quarterbacked by a cadre of all-star producers and writers. Special guests include Kirk Franklin and Wyclef Jean on the stand-out track melding R&B, reggae, rap, and gospel, “Hello God;” Todd Dulaney on the worshipful “Finished Work;” Travis Green, the co-writer and producer of the anthemic “Finished;” and The Fellas, on her current single, “Help Me.” “Touch From You,” the debut single from the album, added to Tamela’s bank of personal bests; the track was her seventh No. 1 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay chart. “Source” and “He Did It For Me” are two other standouts. Says Tamela of the inspiration behind the lyrics for them both: “God is the source and my go-to when I’m lost. I can’t do anything without Him, and I never want to try to.”

Overcomer is the latest accomplishment and centerpiece in Tamela’s busy career. In Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living (BET+), she reprises her role as “Cora,” which she originated in Perry’s successful “Madea” plays, films, and hit television show, Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns. She and David released their first book and joint album, the NAACP Image® Award-winning Us Against the World. She is starring in two upcoming films: the Tyler Perry “Madea” movie coming to Netflix and Soul Santa airing this Christmas on BET, which she executive produced with David. Tamela also launched her own successful athleisure apparel line, the Tamela Mann Collection (tamelamann.com). The line has become a popular staple in the athleisure apparel space.

Tamela has always created art that encourages people and draws them closer to their faith. Her hit-laden music career includes such memorable songs as “Change Me,” “God Provides,” and the unforgettable, No. 1 Platinum-selling classic, “Take Me to the King.” Tamela has earned numerous accolades. In addition to scoring a Grammy®, she is a BET Award winner, Billboard Music Award winner, and multiple Gospel Music Stellar Award, NAACP Image® Award, and GMA Dove Award winner.

“I love butterflies. I feel like I’m coming out of the cocoon again, energized and on fire,” says Tamela, who underwent surgery to have both her knees replaced in the summer of 2019. After taking some time to work on her health and wellness, and a fresh creative mindset, she’s stepping forward a changed woman to express her heart and soul. “This is new music for a new time and a new me,” she says.

If someone were to ask the singer/songwriter what her greatest wish was for this album, says Tamela Mann: “My heart’s desire is to give people hope and let them know there’s still compassion in the world. It’s the opportunity for me again to show God’s love and His grace. That’s my purpose in life and for Overcomer.”

Overcomer is available for pre-sale now.
